8-10-26   THOUGHTS

I know we've used this passage within the last few months.  It's so important and powerful!  We want to be like Jesus.  His mind is to be my mind.  The words emptied, humbled and obedient are KEY!   Jesus' equality with God was not something that got in the way of our Lord perfecting God's plan to save mankind.  We sing the song "Highly Exalted" and it explains Christ's humiliation in the process.  We are truly benefactors in something  awesome!  Our God has "skin in the plan"!  Our High Priest can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities!  
Heb 4:15

Php 2:5-9    Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,  6  who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,  7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.  8  Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself  by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9  For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
 
Our Prayer:
Help us, O God, to remove self from our lives and humbly love as You love.  Teach us the joy that is in this way.  Direct our steps, Father, we are not able.  Thank You for giving Your son to save us.  May the view of Jesus in these words above, settle in our hearts deeply, and motivate our living.  In His precious name we pray,   Amen.
